Quinte Mall's Organic Program: IAs of June 2012, Quinte Mall Organics Program has a total of fourteen tenants participating in the program. Thank you to Bourbon St. Grill, N.Y. Fries, Mr. Sub, Vanellis, Pita Pizzaz, A&W, Tiki Ming, KFC/Taco Bell, Tim Horton's, Teavana, Eastside Mario's, Starbucks, Oishii Sushi and Orange Julius.
Our current organic disposal company is Waste Management and all organic material is taken to the Norterra Compost facility located in Joyceville. From 2011 to 2012 our Solid Waste and Recycling Diversion Rate has improved by over 6%!
FAST FACTS:

- As of December 2012, the participating tenants diverted 20,570.9 MT from going to a landfill
- Thus far in 2013, we have diverted 15,497 KG of food waste from going to a landfill
- This year on Earth Day, we plan on expanding the current program to include the
public areas of the food court, the entrances, and the office tower
- In 2012, a total of 1200KG of paper towels were prevented from going to a landfill
- To date in 2013, we have diverted 379KG of paper towels from going to a landfill
- In 2012, we disposed over 74 MT of wood pallets that were collected from store deliveries
- Beginning May this year Quinte Mall in cooperation with our contract cleaning company G.D.I are switching to an environmentally friendly floor polishing system. This will eliminate the need for wax, stripping products and sealer. This new process will also require less cleaning chemicals to maintain its appearance.
